Non electric chandelier

Just starting the blog world but thought we would start with showing how we solved the problem of having no electric set up in our dinning room.  My husband gets the credit here with using the instabulbs, 2 by 4, lamp shades and a rope. Love having it really adds to the room and we liked more than candles. Project was very simple. And I love it.

Original space, no light, no light switch no electric in the ceiling.

2 by 4 and the drill bit we used to make holes on either end for the rope knot to hide in that would eventually hold the chandelier up

once we created a half an inch deep in the wood we used a drill bit to drill the whole all the way through

This is the instabulb/battery bulb option that we used

We used these lamp shades from ikea

we cut the wire on the inside so that we could screw these into the 2 by 4
Here you can see how we screwed in the instabulb base to hold in the wires on the lamp shade, we also stained the 2 by 4 to match our room

And there you have it our new chandelier
